Bristol Mansion House - Karen & Richard

bristol mansion house wedding photography

It was thrilling shooting Karen and Richard’s Bristol Mansion House Wedding. The couple was recommended by the Mansion House to their wedding planner based on my experience in Bristol Mansion House Wedding Photography.

The Mansion House in Clifton perfectly incorporates the romance and grandeur of the Victorian era with luxury, style and exclusivity in a cocktail mannerism, making it the perfect setting for a perfect Clifton wedding.

Speaking of Karen and Richard’s Bristol Mansion House Wedding, here’s how it went down…

The day started out with Karen getting ready in her bridal suite. Her bridesmaids were her three beautiful daughters who kept her company and helped her as she got ready. The atmosphere was fairly calm and relaxed. Karen’s unique and beautiful short bridal dress was supplied by Veils of Berkeley.

I love the entire atmosphere of their outdoor wedding which comes across so perfectly in their images. All the elements made the day great but everything came together with the hard work of their wedding planner – Caroline of  The Planning Lounge.

The flowers were supplied and beautifully arranged by Megan of Megan Lilly Flowers. The simple posy style bouquet of mixed roses and astrantia in pale dusky pinks, blush and ivory with soft green foliage were elegant yet subtle. The delicious food and drinks was supplied by Parsnip Mash, which is well know for the quality of their food in the whole of South West.

There was plenty of great music throughout the day, starting from guitarist Matt Bee who played at the ceremony and drinks reception to DJ (Tom from Crossfade) and Bristol based band called The 45’s”. Friends and families evidently enjoyed the great music. They swayed nicely to the blend of beats.

Karen and Richard’s Mansion House wedding was perfect and they were full of smiles all day long. Their lovely wedding was also recently feature on The English Wedding Blog.

"We got married at The Mansion House in Clifton, Martin was brilliant, he has a calm nature and made us feel at ease, he captured the atmosphere and people’s emotions with stunning pictures. We would recommend Martin without hesitation."

Kings Weston House wedding - Hollie & Jimmy

Kings Weston House wedding photographer

Hollie and Jimmy, a totally sweet couple, had their dream Bristol wedding at the historic Kings Weston House in the presence of their excited family and friends. The joy in the air was palpable and I was able to capture the positive vibes on camera.

As a regular Kings Weston House wedding photographer, I love to photograph at the KWH because of its beautiful décor and how spacious it is. Built many centuries ago, the Kings Weston house boasts of a plethora of 18th-century features, including magnificent ceilings, marble fireplaces, and a stunning suspended central staircase. It is elegant and characterful, yet retains the charm of a lived-in and loved family home.

On the big day, the bride and her seven bridesmaids got ready in a spacious bridal room at Kings Weston House. Hollie’s hair and Make-Up were done by the talented Emma Dawson. Her gorgeous dress was by Bride at Home. I also had a chance to capture groom with his two best men before the ceremony.

The ceremony was held in the Great Hall while the wedding breakfast took place in the stunning Vanbrugh room. After the ceremony, we all went outside where the drinks reception and group pictures took place, thanks to the lovely weather coupled with the lovely surrounding which created a romantic ambience. This provided the perfect setting for the guests to enjoy their drinks reception while I clicked away.

After the speeches and after the cake was cut, we had some time for evening pics. The guests also hung out in the Portrait gallery where the couple had set up DIY photo booth and obviously at the bar. We finished the Kings Weston wedding photography with some awesome night time shots.

Many thanks to Elizabeth weddings that did the styling, Rachel from The Rose Shed who supplied the flowers and lastly to the band, the Shuffles, who serenaded the guests with good music in the Oak room where the first dance also took place. These amazing vendors were very easy to work with and made my experience a smooth one.

Big congratulations to the amazing couple, Hollie & Jimmy, who liked my last wedding at Kings Weston House and got in touch with me to photograph theirs! I worked with them to create beautiful memories just to ensure their Kings Weston House wedding was as they have always imagined it would be.

I'm really pleased to say that their lovely wedding was also featured on The English Wedding and The Wedding Community blog.

Thank you Hollie and Jimmy for your kind words that you share on The English Wedding blog:

"We wanted someone local and liked the fact that Martin had photographed weddings at the venue before. We really liked his natural shots and the way he uses reflections. Everyone said how brilliant Martin was on the day and he made everyone feel at ease. At some points we didn’t even notice he was there! He was friendly and professional and we would highly recommend him. The beautiful photos speak for themselves!"

SS Great Britain wedding - Laura & Alex

SS Great Britain wedding photography

As a recommended SS Great Britain wedding photographer, I photograph weddings at this venue on a regular basis. Launched in 1843 as the world’s first luxury ocean liner, the SS Great Britain is a truly unique venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions. This unique wedding venue is also the first wedding venue in Bristol where couple could get married outside the Bristol register office.

Laura and Alex didn’t only have perfect weather for their wedding at SS Great Britain; they had an incredibly unique day all together. It was a spring wedding with summer weather. A dream wedding on board one of the world’s greatest historic ships, creating memories to cherish and last a lifetime.

The bride with her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house near Bristol. Her hair was made by Broad St. weddings, her make-up done by Kathryn from Powder & Paint. Abigail Westrup Bridal handled the Dress alteration while the bride’s gorgeous head piece called Maui was handmade by Abigail Grace design. On the other hand, the groom with his groomsmen arrived at SS Great Britain in style by ferry from the city center.

The ceremony was lovely and I especially loved the unique flowers supplied by Emma Petersson. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the sunshine on the weather deck where drinks reception was held. It was lovely to have a quick chat with parents of one of my brides whose wedding I photographed few years back, it turned out that there are bride's parents friends.

The speeches were downright hilarious! Right after the speeches, we manages to catch the last rays of Sun and took some portraits just before the sunset. The wedding at SS Great Britain wouldn't be completed without some evening portraits as the ship looks incredible at night. After that, it was back to the party to spend time with friends and family to celebrate the happiest day of their lives. The Jacks through Warble Entertainments serenaded the guests with good music.

"Dear Martin, thank you so much for the amazing pictures you took on our wedding day. We are so grateful to you - the day goes by in such a blur, but we have a fantastic set of pictures memories. You captured key parts throughout the whole day and we are so pleased. We will be singing your praises to anyone and everyone. Thank you Laura & Alex"

Merchants Hall Wedding

Sometimes couples travel far and wide to find the perfect wedding venue. Others choose somewhere close to home, to keep them grounded in their roots. That's exactly what Adam and Charlotte did when they were married at the Merchants Hall in Clifton, Bristol. They live just around the corner from the venue, and always knew it was the perfect place for them!

Guests travelled from all over the world to celebrate Adam and Charlotte's special day, and it was so lovely to hear all the different stories from all the different guests as they toasted to their friends. There was a jovial atmosphere, with smiles all around, as we sat down to a lovely dinner by Parsnip Mash. Funky name, fabulous food! Charlotte's stunning dress came from Clifton Brides, the flowers from Lisa Elliott and the vintage Rolls - Royce By Heritage Car Travel.

Pictures on the Clifton Suspension Bridge aren't few and far between, but every pair of newlyweds adds something special. Adam and Charlotte are no different, glowing all over as they posed together as man and wife. I'm so thrilled to have been a part of their day, and wish them all the best in their lives together.

If you are considering Merchants Hall wedding (or anywhere in Bristol for that matter) please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your wedding photography requirements.
