Villa Eliana wedding - Becki & Jamie

villa eliana wedding photography

When Beckie and Jamie a lovely couple from Wiltshire which I met at wedding fayre organized by WhiteWed invited me to be their Villa Eliana wedding photographer, I was really excited to be privileged to capture the beautiful memories at their destination wedding on the Amalfi Coast. I love photographing destination weddings, so I have been very much looking forward to this wedding since January when I photographed wedding in Algarve.

Being my first time as a Villa Eliana wedding photographer, I arrived the day before the wedding to scout the location and immediately fell in love with gorgeous town in the south west of Italy with a lovely view into Capri, Mount Vesuvius, and  Gulf on Naples. This scenery is the delight of every photographer including a new Villa Eliana wedding photographer like me. With gorgeous views from the cliffs, a pretty marina where you can watch the sunset on the beach and a lively town center, Sorrento has everything to offer.

Set atop the rolling hills of Sorrento, Villa Eliana is a dream wedding venue, boasting incredible views all the way to Capri. It is one of the best spots around if you enjoy magnificent sunsets while sipping cocktails poolside, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy sunsets & cocktails!? Villa Eliana was the ideal location for Beckie and Jamie’s very relaxed wedding and with gorgeous weather, most of the reception took place outdoors.

Just after Sunset, there was cutting of the cake and first dance then party. The outdoor ceremony with only close friends and family present where they were treated to delicious food and high standard of service – very Italian!

After dinner guests were serenaded with live music which is definitely the best way to open the dance floor! Beckie & Jamie, thank you for taking me on your Italian adventure with you as your Villa Eliana wedding photographer.

If you are considering wedding at Villa Eliana (or anywhere on the Amalfi Coast) please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your wedding photography requirements.

Kings Weston House wedding - Hollie & Jimmy

Kings Weston House wedding photographer

Hollie and Jimmy, a totally sweet couple, had their dream Bristol wedding at the historic Kings Weston House in the presence of their excited family and friends. The joy in the air was palpable and I was able to capture the positive vibes on camera.

As a regular Kings Weston House wedding photographer, I love to photograph at the KWH because of its beautiful décor and how spacious it is. Built many centuries ago, the Kings Weston house boasts of a plethora of 18th-century features, including magnificent ceilings, marble fireplaces, and a stunning suspended central staircase. It is elegant and characterful, yet retains the charm of a lived-in and loved family home.

On the big day, the bride and her seven bridesmaids got ready in a spacious bridal room at Kings Weston House. Hollie’s hair and Make-Up were done by the talented Emma Dawson. Her gorgeous dress was by Bride at Home. I also had a chance to capture groom with his two best men before the ceremony.

The ceremony was held in the Great Hall while the wedding breakfast took place in the stunning Vanbrugh room. After the ceremony, we all went outside where the drinks reception and group pictures took place, thanks to the lovely weather coupled with the lovely surrounding which created a romantic ambience. This provided the perfect setting for the guests to enjoy their drinks reception while I clicked away.

After the speeches and after the cake was cut, we had some time for evening pics. The guests also hung out in the Portrait gallery where the couple had set up DIY photo booth and obviously at the bar. We finished the Kings Weston wedding photography with some awesome night time shots.

Many thanks to Elizabeth weddings that did the styling, Rachel from The Rose Shed who supplied the flowers and lastly to the band, the Shuffles, who serenaded the guests with good music in the Oak room where the first dance also took place. These amazing vendors were very easy to work with and made my experience a smooth one.

Big congratulations to the amazing couple, Hollie & Jimmy, who liked my last wedding at Kings Weston House and got in touch with me to photograph theirs! I worked with them to create beautiful memories just to ensure their Kings Weston House wedding was as they have always imagined it would be.

If you are looking for Kings Weston House wedding photographer, please get in touch. I would love to hear all about your wedding plans.

SS Great Britain wedding - Laura & Alex

ss great britain wedding photography

As a recommended SS Great Britain wedding photographer, I photograph weddings at this venue on a regular basis. Launched in 1843 as the world’s first luxury ocean liner, the SS Great Britain is a truly unique venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions. This unique wedding venue is also the first wedding venue in Bristol where couple could get married outside the Bristol register office.

Laura and Alex didn’t only have perfect weather for their wedding at SS Great Britain; they had an incredibly unique day all together. It was a spring wedding with summer weather. A dream wedding on board one of the world’s greatest historic ships, creating memories to cherish and last a lifetime.

SS Great Britain Wedding Photography

The bride with her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house near Bristol. Her hair was made by Broad St. weddings, her make-up done by Kathryn from Powder & Paint. Abigail Westrup Bridal handled the Dress alteration while the bride’s gorgeous head piece called Maui was handmade by Abigail Grace design. On the other hand, the groom with his groomsmen arrived at SS Great Britain in style by ferry from the city center.

The ceremony was lovely and I especially loved the unique flowers supplied by Emma Petersson. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the sunshine on the weather deck where drinks reception was held. It was lovely to have a quick chat with parents of one of my brides whose wedding I photographed few years back, it turned out that there are bride's parents friends.

The speeches were downright hilarious! Right after the speeches, we manages to catch the last rays of Sun and took some portraits just before the sunset. The wedding at SS Great Britain wouldn't be completed without some evening portraits as the ship looks incredible at night. After that, it was back to the party to spend time with friends and family to celebrate the happiest day of their lives. The Jacks through Warble Entertainments serenaded the guests with good music

If you are considering wedding at SS Great Britain (or anywhere in Bristol) please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your SS Great Britain wedding photography requirements.

"Dear Martin, thank you so much for amazing pictures you took on our wedding day. We are so grateful to you-the day goes by in such a blur, but we have a fantastic set of picture memories. You captured key parts throughout the whole day and we are so pleased. We will be singing your praises to anyone and everyone. Thank you Laura & Alex"

wellington barn wedding

Wedding at Wellington Barn - Sophie & Alex

I was excited when Alex and Sophie contacted me to be their Wellington Barn Wedding Photographer. It was yet another opportunity to photograph at the barn and it was a wonderful experience – for, quite frankly, a very wonderful couple.

Alex and Sophie got married at stunning Marshfield church, just around the corner where Sophie’s parents live and where she got ready together with her bridesmaids. The wedding itself was wonderful, with lots of tears from the parents, family, and friends – and some nervous looks from Alex just before the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the guests traveled together with the couple to Wellington Barn – an absolutely adorable location, nestled in a valley just outside of Calne in Wiltshire. Sophie had gone to some incredible lengths setting up the details of the day. The groom is a light technician so he lit up trees outside venue, which looked amazing. The table decorations and the wedding cake were out of this world.

Sophie looked absolutely stunning of course and as the day progressed, it incorporated the traditional set of speeches, some wining and dining, games and finishing up with a well-executed first dance in front of their close friends and family. It started raining during the drinks reception so taking group pictures was a bit challenging; luckily it stopped for a while so we could take some couple portraits and some other evening portraits.

Sophie and Alex’s wedding day was just perfect and absolutely wonderful with clouds and skies all making for the perfect scenery for this wedding in my opinion. Much credit to Sophie’s Bridal hair specialist: Charlotte Parker, the band: Brother from Another and also to the caterers: Berry Blue catering.

The beautiful venue, Wellington Barn is located in one of Wiltshire’s best looking countryside. The barn itself is divided into two parts, a smaller side licensed for civil ceremonies and the perfect place to unwind and dance the night away, coupled with the larger main room which can comfortably seat 100 guests. Its outdoor areas especially the surrounding hills are quite stunning and give an aerial view down onto the barn and surrounding farmland.

Please do get in touch if you are looking for a Wellington Barn Wedding Photographer for your wedding, I have just been added to their recommended supplier list and I’m very much looking forward to being a Wellington Barn wedding photographer again.

As usual, below is a selection of my favourite photographs from Sophie and Alex’s day at Wellington Barn.

"Martin is a very professional photographer who made two camera shy people relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera. His unobtrusive manner meant we had great candid photographs of guests; a truly special record of the day.
The photos we received were stunning and full of creative skill and flare. He used Wellington Barn's countryside surroundings and rustic interior to great effect especially with his night time photographs. He caught the autumnal feel of wedding perfectly.
We would have no hesitation in recommending him to future clients and look forward to working with him in the future. " - Sophie and Alex

thornbury castle wedding

Thornbury Castle Wedding Photographer

thornbury castle wedding

As a Thornbury Castle wedding photographer, I find this location really exotic and perfect for a fun wedding. So when this really amazing couple, Beth and Adam, told me about their plans to tie the knots at Thornbury Castle, I was excited as this is one castle I love to photograph. The bride loves castles and donkeys, so they decided to have wedding at Thornbury Castle which is just few miles away from Bristol.

Dating back to the 16th century, Thornbury Castle is one of the most romantic hotels in the country. With its magnificent medieval architecture on the edge of the Cotswolds, impressive Tudor Hall, luxurious bedrooms and award winning food, it really is the perfect location for a memorable wedding. The Castle's idyllic walled gardens provide an unrivaled and grand setting for your reception, photographs, and guests. Set in pristine grounds, with a kitchen garden and vineyard, Henry VIII and his new bride, Anne Boleyn were once housed in the grandeur of Thornbury.

The big day was a rainy summer day but we had fun all the same as the castle provided lots of alternatives for group shots. Luckily, the rain stopped just before the speeches so we took some couple portraits in the lovely gardens at the castle.

Guess what? Adam surprised Beth with an arrival of the donkey from the donkey sanctuary just after the ceremony. That was really thoughtful. Knowing what this meant to Beth, we did well to capture her reaction on camera to keep the beautiful memories alive.

The cutting of the cake or actually cupcakes was done with a sword and that was quite unique. After the first dance and before fireworks, we took some evening portraits as the castle is beautifully lit at night with sights of the manicured lawns and landscaped grounds.

For Beth and Adam, the presence of their family and friends made their special day complete as they took a “Forever” vow at the historical Thornbury castle.

As a Bristol wedding photographer, I have worked in various wedding venues across the country, and I thrive on exotic locations as a photographer. Yet, Thornbury Castle is one location I would love to photograph over and over again. Do not hesitate to contact me if you’re in need of the services of a Thornbury Castle wedding photographer. Let’s do this all over again!

roman baths wedding photographer

Roman Baths Wedding Photographer - Emma & Matt

sunrise ceremony roman baths wedding

I love to work as The Roman Baths wedding photographer. On this occasion it was a Sunrise wedding ceremony at The Roman Baths where Emma and Matt were recently tied the knot. With an intimate feel, this Sunrise Wedding which took place in the morning around the torch-lit and steaming waters of the Great Bath provided a truly romantic start for Emma & Matt who are a fun and lovely couple.

Dating back to roughly 2000 years, the Roman Baths remain one of the deluxe historic sites in Europe. The Roman Baths are strategically located at the heart of the World Heritage city. Asides from being one of the most stunning and romantic locations in the country for weddings, the Roman Baths are also licensed for civil ceremonies. Little wonder this amazing historic site created the most magical scenery for an amazing couple like Emma and Matt to exchange their vows with family and friends as witnesses. It was a unique and perfect spot to celebrate the magical bond between this amazing couple. The Roman Baths gave an intimate feel to the celebration as Emma and Matt took their vows.

Even though I never met the couple until their big day, they were so cool to work with. With unprecedented photo opportunities at this stunning Bath Historic Venue, I started with some pictures of the groom and guests while waiting for bride to arrive with her two bridesmaids. We had only 20 minutes after the ceremony to photograph group shots and some couple pictures, before the venue was open to the visitors. I wish there would be more time as the venue is very picturesque. The couple decided to have confetti shot in front of Bath Abbey which is just around the corner from The Roman Baths. After that the guests traveled to Ascot racecourse for the reception.

Roman Baths Wedding Photographer

Did we forget to say that this stunning location amazed all guests present? It was quite enigmatic! The temperature was pretty cold (around 0 degrees Celsius) so the steam from the warm waters gave a more than lovely mysterious atmosphere.

At Emma and Matt’s wedding, Daisy Chain in Corsham delivered the beautiful flowers while Emma’s gorgeous bridal dress was by Inspired - Brides Wiltshire.  It was a short but perfect Roman Baths wedding. Below are a few pictures highlighting this memorable day.

If you are considering a Sunrise or Sunset ceremony at The Roman Baths and are looking for The Roman Baths wedding photographer then please get in touch.

Bristol Mansion House wedding

mansion house bristol

Bristol Mansion House wedding at it's best, Victoria and Andy held their lovely wedding here in July. The Clifton Cathedral and The Mansion House made the perfect backdrop for their luxurious wedding day.

The couple came recommended by The Mansion House, a vendor I have worked with before. As the couple live in Clifton they decided to have ceremony and reception in Clifton, they also used mostly local suppliers.

I started the day with bride at Bristol Marriott, for some gorgeous bridal portraits. It got very emotional when Victoria's dad saw her in the dress for the first time. His genuinely amazing reaction seeing his little girl as a bride brought tears to all of the ladies eyes. Vicki then spent adorable moments with her girls and it was off to the ceremony.

The day was full of memorable and sweet, magical moments. Travelling by car to The Clifton Cathedral for the service, people on the street were waving and cheering to Vicki and her dad which was very cute. Vicki also looked exquisite as she walked down the aisle in her gorgeous dress by Clifton Brides. Full of sparkling detail, she really shined! The ceremony was one beautifully traditional English ceremony, where the couple sealed their love with a sweet kiss.

On the way to the reception we stopped for some photos at The Clifton Suspension Bridge which is nearby the reception venue - The Mansion House. Guests were greeted with a lovely drinks reception while we took a few lovely bridal portraits with their antique 1930's Style White Beauford courtesy of Spirit Wedding Cars.

During the drink reception guests were entertained with games of lawn jenga - a fun addition to their lush garden affair. Decorated with gorgeous flowers from Clifton Flowers, the reception table names was a mixture of Spanish and French words as Vicki is a French and Spanish teacher.

After the first dance the dance floor was always full thanks to Alan from Soundwave Entertainments. Of course, nothing quite topped the cake cutting thanks to Anna Cake Couture or the amazing food by in house caterer Parsnip Mash.

A glorious day to remember, I would like to congratulate Victoria and Andy on one fabulous wedding to remember. Thank you for asking me to be your Bristol wedding photographer. If you’re considering Bristol Mansion House wedding (or anywhere else for that matter), please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your wedding photography requirements.

Bristol Mansion House Wedding

"Martin photographed us at our wedding at Clifton Cathedral and the Mansion House. He has been fantastic right from the start, when we had our initial discussion about the day, to the very end when producing our album which we have just received and it looks great! On the day itself, Martin and his colleague were both very professional and made everyone feel relaxed. They captured lots of special moments on the day, including many shots that we wouldn't even have thought to ask for." - Victoria & Andy

Wedding at Brympton House - Kate & Simon

brympton house wedding

Wedding photography Brympton House at it's best! Kate and Simon’s wedding at Brympton House was truly one heroic affair to remember! Full of magic and light, this couple spared no detail when it came to a day full of romance, love, laughter and joy. It had all of the qualities you want to photograph captured in one lovely wedding. The love and laughter shared between this couple, made this country house castle the perfect place for Kate and Simon to say “I do.”

The moment Kate stepped out of her bridal suite, in her stunning white gown accented with floral lace, I knew this Brympton House wedding was going to be special. Special moments continued to highlight the big day - especially the moment her Father saw her for the first time. His adoration for his beautiful daughter was just as stunning as Kate.

A traditional English ceremony, full of love and support from family and friends, there wasn’t a dull moment the entire day - even the moment they sealed their love with a kiss was purely magical. This lovely and fun couple from London were truly wonderful to photograph. The day was full of laughter and fun, especially since the Groom writes for stand up comedians! Their superhero wedding theme brought the entire day to life at Brympton House, where I have had the distinct privilege of photographing other weddings, but where this one stood out as exceptionally amazing.

Wedding photography Brympton House

Kate and Simon’s unique day was full of sweet moments, especially when all of the children in attendance arrived in full superhero fancy dress. There was also a blessing by the Groom’s Mum at The Temple. Before the meal, they shared a simple private moment with just the three of them and myself. The first dance was the funniest I have ever seen, and the band consisted of wedding guests including the best man!

What I love about this venue is that every part of the day takes place in a different place on the grounds. The ceremony takes place in the Castle House. A cocktail reception with games is hosted on the South Terrace. The gorgeous wedding reception takes place in the ballroom, and the cutting of the cake (created by Cakes by Samantha) happens in The Great Hall. Finally, an evening dance kicks off at The Stables - all elegant, classic, timeless places to hold one posh wedding affair to remember. All of the places were stunningly decorated and stylised by in house florist (Emily) and in house stylist (Ellie) from Tie the Knot.

It was a pleasure to work along Rich from I Do Film Weddings and Jacob Boodrie who was assisting me on this epic Brympton House wedding. Their fun-filled superhero wedding was also featured on Easy Weddings website.
