Fern & James’ engagement session in Greenwich

One of the things I love about The Old Royal Naval College Greenwich wedding photography is that there is always something different to set one wedding apart from another.

Lots of my couple clients are based in the London area, so sometimes I go to this venue to photograph engagement sessions on request by couples even if their wedding will be taking place in Somerset or in the Cotswold area – just like Fern and James!

Engagement sessions are undoubtedly a great ice-breaker for couples. They feel relaxed during the session and most importantly, enjoy it. Fern & James’ engagement session was no exception! On this occasion, Fern & James chose the stunning Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich for their Engagement session because of their love for the architectural design of this venue.

The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich London ranks as one of the most visited attractions in the UK. It’s absolutely stunning grounds and architecture attract people from all over the globe and obviously provide an extraordinary backdrop. It offers two magical wedding venues: the grand Painted Hall and the intimate Admiral’s House.

The refurbished Admiral’s House forms part of the oldest collection of buildings on site. The venue is reminiscent of an elegant townhouse, with two floors, joined by a beautiful period staircase. Situated on the edge of the Thames, it affords awe-inspiring, yet tranquil views of the river and across to Canary Wharf and the City. The Admiral’s House is perfect for an intimate wedding filled with charm and warmth. No matter the size of the wedding, this is a venue that is certain to delight your guests and leave you with memories to treasure for a lifetime.

After exchanging a few pleasantries with the couple, we started the engagement photo session in the park just before sunset and finished when it was already dark at the college site. It was a great occasion to get to know one another as we had only spoken on the phone before then.

I look forward to photographing their wedding this June at Brympton House in Somerset
