priston mill wedding

Jennifer and Richard’s Priston Mill wedding was one of my favourite experiences for two reasons. The first reason is that their wedding was absolutely charming; a gorgeous, floral-themed wedding between two people so truly in love, you just have to see it to believe it. The second reason is that I’ve photographed weddings at Priston Mill before, and it’s one of my favourite venues. Richard and Jennifer held their wedding at the Tythe Barn, and the Watermill is equally stunning – a perfect backdrop for weddings!

The fete got off to a wonderful start with so many people excited to be part of the big day, arriving and greeting each other with smiles and waves. I was able to get some beautiful and touching shots of the family since Jennifer and Richard opted to skip the ‘getting ready’ photos in favour of having me stay later in the evening to get some genuine and personal portraits later in the evening, which turned out fantastically – the dandelion fight during the portraits was one of a kind!

Jennifer was an absolutely stunning bride, her beautiful features enhanced by the talented Aldona Francis. The delicately beaded and embroidered netting of her bateau neckline beautifully set off the lovely curls that bounced around her shoulders. Jennifer carried a sweet bouquet by Floriography in Bristol, the colours of which were reflected by the boutonnieres the gentlemen wore and the rich cerulean blue chosen for the groom and groomsmen’s ties and accessories.

The sashes that the flower girls wore were a shade of similar blue as well, and the blues were the perfect complement to both Jennifer and Richard, highlighting the beauty of their eyes! The Best Man was Richard’s father, the Maid of Honour was Jennifer’s sister, and the flower girls were the groom’s nieces, keeping the wedding party very intimate and special.

Their sendoff was a shower of petals, in keeping with the floral theme, and the reception carried on in the same vein. The guests received heart-shaped lollypop with a real violet inside of them, and each table was named after a different flower. The blue to white ombré cake by The Cakery in Bristol was decorated with sugared violets as well, rounding out the beautiful floral style to the entire day.

The pictures we were able to take around the grounds were breathtakingly gorgeous – not just because Richard and Jennifer are such an attractive couple, but because their love genuinely shines through every time their eyes meet or their hands touch. Witnessing a wedding is always an emotionally-charged event, but the Priston Mill wedding photography I was able to capture with these two was even better, seeing the love shared between these two just floored me.
