Priston Mill wedding
Priston Mill wedding
Priston Mill wedding was a perfect choice for Leesa and Dan.
Nestled in the countryside at Priston Mill near Bath and Bristol, the ancient Watermill and Tythe Barn make perfect locations for wedding receptions and civil ceremonies.
I must admit that it was one of the funniest and most colourful weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing last year. Leesa is of Chinese descent on her father’s side, and so it was wonderful to see all the Chinese touches, in honour of her heritage, at the wedding. Leesa’s father, in particular, was hilarious. He was cracking jokes all day, and I felt so at ease in his presence.
As well as a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, the guests took part in a Dragon Dance, which I love to capture at Chinese weddings. It was a brilliantly sunny day, and truly gorgeous to photograph. Leesa prepared for the day at her home in Bath. The wedding flowers came by way of Emma Petersson, the cars from Englands Finest Cars and the band, the Moon Loungers, were as amazing as ever.
The wedding reception took place in the Tythe barn, which Leesa’s sister had decorated perfectly. I felt so inspired by everything around me on the day. After some moving, and funny on the father of the bride’s part, speeches, we went into the fields around us for sunset portraits.
It was a magical day, steeped in tradition, and I am so thrilled I could share in their special day. I wish Leesa and Dan a lifetime of happiness together. I am also pleased that their fun fusion wedding was featured in Your Bristol & Somerset wedding magazine.

“Martin was fantastic at our fusion outdoor wedding at Priston mill and we love our album. He was a great hit with all of our guests, He put everybody at ease and and was a good laugh along with with his assistant photographer Jacob. His photography is of amazing standard and stood out over photographers we visited.” – Leesa & Dan
