Stanbrook Abbey Wedding - Laura & Alex

I was looking forward to returning to this unique wedding venue and be a Stanbrook Abbey wedding photographer again. This wedding at Stanbrook Abbey in Worcestershire was one big, beautiful affair. Guests filled the abbey for John and Laura’s wedding, and the two had a wedding party full of loved ones. Laura was surrounded by seven bridesmaids as she got ready to walk down the aisle, and John had his best man and three ushers. Two adorable flower girls and one pageboy marked the beginning of the ceremony as they processed in.

Laura looked stunning in her sleeveless white gown, and based on the reactions of her father and her bridesmaids, everyone else thought she looked remarkable too.

The ceremony was full of love, tears, and laughter. John wiped tears away from his eyes as Laura walked down the aisle toward him. The couple beamed as they exchanged vows, and guests smiled along as everyone sang “All You Need is Love,” by The Beatles. A string quartet accompanied guests as they sang during the ceremony.

After the ceremony guests headed to the reception in St. Anne’s Hall. There was fun to be had by all as all kind of games were played between the courses. Family and friends gave toasts to the new Mr. and Mrs. leaving them laughing and crying all at the same time. Laura and John surprised everyone by opting against a first dance but instead singing the first song.

The venue was the perfect location for capturing photos of John and Laura. The pair looked incredible as they posed for photos in empty hallways with beautiful architecture, and outside on the swing and amongst the greenery. The happy couple found me through the Stanbrook Abbey recommended supplier list. We went through the images of a previous wedding I had photographed there and they loved the photos, so I was happy to be able to give them their own.

If you are getting married at this majestic venue and you are looking for Relaxed & Natural Stanbrook Abbey wedding photographer to capture your day I would love to hear from you.

"Martin photographed our wedding at Stanbrook Abbey. We had spent a long time looking at different photographers' works online and then met Martin at a wedding fair. We really wanted a photographer who wouldn't do 'stuffy', overly formal photos and we loved the examples he showed us, especially the cool things he does with lighting and booked him.
We had a Skype call with him prior to the wedding which was great and he really took the time to find out what we wanted. He definitely listened and we found him excellent on the day!

We've been to a few weddings where the photographer has barked orders at everyone but Martin was incredibly natural and friendly and up for a laugh with the guests. In fact, many guests commented after the wedding saying how great the photographer was! His energy was incredible and he just ran around all over the place, somehow managing to be everywhere at once, capturing some fab shots from some great vantage points whilst never 'imposing' on anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed his company on the day - you realise you spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day so it's important you have someone who knows what they're doing and who you can have fun with! We'd happily recommend Martin to anyone and needless to say our photos and wedding album were superb. Thank you Martin!

Dartington Hall wedding - Victoria & Lawrence

Victoria and Lawrence's Dartington Hall wedding had an autumn theme using the best of the season to decorate this stunning medieval venue.

Dartington Hall is the largest medieval house in the West of England and possibly one of the most romantic wedding venues in Devon. It is a perfect combination of being really grand and striking but also rustic and relaxed, allowing the couple to put their personal touches to it. Dartington wedding venue is also a social enterprise and a lot of money made from weddings is put back into the community!

The couple found me on Dartington Hall recommended supplier list and they love the previous wedding that I captured here.

Vicky and Larry decided on November wedding as they loved the idea of cosy log fires and autumnal colours. The theme of the wedding was all things rustic and autumnal - lots of dried leaves, pine cones, ivy, burnt oranges, candles, etc

Also as the couple run a brewery it would have been silly not to provide their own Red Ink Brewing beer at the wedding. It was a great hit and even Dartington Hall on-site pub was serving their tasty beer to their customers long after their wedding.

The bride and groom wanted to personalize the ceremony as much as possible and make it really fun. They had four great readings, some of which were tailored especially for them!

The guitarist Tommy C was amazing adds on to the ceremony. He played during the signing of the register and got everyone singing, and even dancing, during the ceremony. After wedding breakfast, cutting the five-tier Devonshire cheesecake and touching speeches we had some time for some evening portraits, which is a must at such a striking venue! The couple started the evening party with their first dance played by Plastic Pantomime. The wedding band rocked and kept all the guests constantly on the dancefloor. Thumbs up!

"Martin photographed our wedding at Dartington Hall in November. He was fantastic! Relaxed yet professional on the day, listened to all of our weird and wonderful ideas beforehand and dealt with the November weather expertly! We were really happy with the end result and ended up ordering an album double the size of the one we had previously planned as we loved the pictures so much! Thanks again Martin."

Walton Castle wedding - Rachel & Chris

Walton castle wedding

It was my first time as Walton Castle wedding photographer. Sunglasses were a necessity for Rachel and Chris's sunny Walton Castle wedding. The day was full of fun from the Muppets theme to a balloon tying competition. There was even a cheeky nod to all things chivalrous with a custom cloak worn by the bride as a surprise for the groom. We couldn't resist adding the swords for an extra-pointy accessory. En Garde!

Against the stunning backdrop of the castle, beneath a canopy of fluttering bunting, the two exchanged their vows in front of family and friends. There was live music during the ceremony and drinks reception, courtesy of The Hot Hats and as the night closed in guests feasted on tacos from The Little Taquero and danced the night away to the sounds of the Zu Zu Men.

The bride's ensemble was created with a timeless gown from The Bridal Room, hair and makeup by the Tour de Force that is Grace Kingsley, and finished off with accessories from Bridezillas. The day itself was made a reality thanks to the hard work and diligence of Gill from WishTree Weddings and the bright and airy marquee was provided by Marquee Master.
