Wellington Barn Wedding Photographer

I was excited when Alex and Sophie contacted me to be their Wellington Barn Wedding Photographer. It was yet another opportunity to photograph at the barn and it was a wonderful experience – for, quite frankly, a very wonderful couple.

Alex and Sophie got married at stunning Marshfield church, just around the corner where Sophie’s parents live and where she got ready together with her bridesmaids. The wedding itself was wonderful, with lots of tears from the parents, family, and friends – and some nervous looks from Alex just before the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the guests travelled together with the couple to Wellington Barn – an absolutely adorable location, nestled in a valley just outside of Calne in Wiltshire. Sophie had gone to some incredible lengths setting up the details of the day. The groom is a light technician so he lit up trees outside the venue, which looked amazing. The table decorations and the wedding cake were out of this world.

Sophie looked absolutely stunning of course and as the day progressed, it incorporated the traditional set of speeches, some wining and dining, games and finishing up with a well-executed first dance in front of their close friends and family. It started raining during the drinks reception so taking group pictures was a bit challenging; luckily it stopped for a while so we could take some couple portraits and some other evening portraits.

Sophie and Alex’s wedding day was just perfect and absolutely wonderful with clouds and skies all making for the perfect scenery for this wedding in my opinion. Much credit to Sophie’s Bridal hair specialist: Charlotte Parker, the band: Brother from Another and also to the caterers: Berry Blue catering.

The beautiful venue, Wellington Barn is located in one of Wiltshire’s best-looking countryside. The barn itself is divided into two parts, a smaller side licensed for civil ceremonies and the perfect place to unwind and dance the night away, coupled with the larger main room which can comfortably seat 100 guests. Its outdoor areas especially the surrounding hills are quite stunning and give an aerial view down onto the barn and surrounding farmland.
