Yurt Wedding in Somerset

Becky and George married in the centre of Bristol but travelled out to the scenic Lower Stock Farm for their bright and cheerful reception, which took place inside a yurt supplied by Bristol based – Wedding yurts!

One of the many benefits of a wedding yurt is that no matter the weather the white walls capture the light and once you’re inside they feel spacious and airy. Don’t you just love the way it seems like a perfect summers day inside the yurt, despite the rain outside? I really enjoyed photographing such an unusual venue but I think the real highlights for me were the biscuits (gifts from generous guests), Becky’s spotty wellington boots, and the samba band that performed just before the first dance. Becky is a member of the samba band Ilu Axe, and their performance was incredible – personal touches like this really make the day!

This wedding was a real local affair with the flowers and even the beer coming from the same village as the farm. The food was from the talented catering team at Papadeli in Bristol and the transport was arranged by Abacus Wedding Cars, also based in Bristol.
