Hi! I’m Martin Dabek and I’m a UK-based destination wedding photographer. Over the years, I was lucky enough to be an Algarve wedding photographer on many occasions, and I just can’t get enough. I love returning to shoot weddings in the Algarve, and I fell in love with its stunning beaches, picturesque fishing villages and glorious climate. It’s one of the very few places in Europe where you can have a sunny outdoor ceremony in Wintertime!
I have friends there whom I love to visit every year. This means that I don’t charge my couples for my travel and accommodation and can offer special deals for mid-week weddings and off-peak dates. To be honest, I jump at any chance to return to the Algarve!
And who wouldn’t? The Algarve’s stunning scenery and year-round sunny and mild climate have long attracted visitors from all over the world. Famed for their golden cliffs, small coves sheltered by rocks, and stretches of golden beaches for as far as the eye can see. The ocean, in every shade of blue, enjoys mostly calm and warm waters ideal for swimming and water sports.
Destination weddings turn your wedding day into a full wedding adventure that you get to take with your nearest and dearest with you. Enjoy some pre-wedding pampering at one of The Algarve’s many spas and thalassotherapy centres. Or play a round of golf at one of The Algave’s internationally acclaimed golf courses.
Head inland a little into the mountains, where the locals live in harmony with nature and love to share their traditions with visitors. The Algarve cities of Silves and Lagos are rich in history and culture. Whereas the cosmopolitan towns of Portimao and Albufeira have a vibrant bustling scene both day and night. As an experienced Algarve wedding photographer, my approach to the day itself is simple. First of all, I capture the day in a relaxed and natural style that produces beautiful, informal and emotional images. For me, although mainly for you, you must spend your wedding day primarily with your guests, and not with me!
I would be there to capture all the important moments – and moments between the moments – without you even noticing me. To sum up, I just let you get on with having a fabulous day.
Algarve is the biggest and most important Portuguese tourist region and it’s a perfect place to get married. The choice of wedding venues is very vast and every couple would find something to suit their needs.
When it comes to food, The Algarve will serve you the very freshest fish and seafood straight from the sea. Add to that locally grown vegetables and fruit flavoured by the sun. Nature provides the basic ingredients to conjure up an amazing wedding feast.
Algarve Wedding Photographer for fun-loving couples
If you are a fan of vineyard weddings, then please check out Quinta Dos Vales (Estômbar). This beautiful wine estate is located in the heart of the Algarve and offers several spaces where you can hold your wedding ceremony.
When I capture wedding photography at Quinta Dos Vales (Estombar), I love the fact that every venue space enjoys spectacular views of the vineyards, offering me perfect backdrops for beautiful wedding photos.
How about a romantic Algarve Castle wedding? If you have always dreamt about a Castle wedding, then Palácio de Estoi (Estoi) is the perfect choice for you. This Rococo palace with French and Italian elements has a pink and blue colour, which makes for a breathtaking wedding shoot and ceremony backdrop.
My favourite thing about capturing Palacio de Estoi wedding photography is its chic and opulent interiors that create a real fairytale setting perfect for a wedding.
Natural Algarve Wedding Photography
Another popular choice is getting hitched in one of the many stunning Algarve hotels, like Suites Alba Resort & Spa in Lagoa, where you can have your ceremony at the top of the cliffs of the secluded Albandeira beach. Another hotel worth mentioning is Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, where I photograph regularly. Many of the best Algarve Hotels have a spa onsite, allowing you and your wedding party to pamper yourselves either the day before or on the morning of your wedding.
