Who could fail to be impressed by this Grade II listed Mansion with a neo-Jacobean style façade and open work stone parapets, ornate gables and tall mullioned windows that throw in tons of natural light? Built-in 1852, Clevedon Hall also boasts a rich and fascinating history.
The house sits within 17 acres of terraces, lawns, fountains and lakes that all make stunning backdrops for amazing wedding photos. Inside the house, there’s a stately interior with a variety of spacious rooms with splendid period décor ideal for hosting weddings that are large, small and everything in between. As an experienced Clevedon Hall wedding photographer my day usually starts in their beautiful bridal suite. The perfect place for the wedding party to convene and get ready, it has plenty of room for your wedding party, your wedding suppliers and me, the most unobtrusive wedding photographer in Somerset, there to capture that all-important morning of the wedding images.
For wedding ceremonies, Clevedon Hall offers a host of options. Their orangery is light and bright with neutral colours for you to add to your decoration. It has underfloor heating and cooling units integrated into the ceiling ensuring the temperate remains perfect all day. It is also the perfect location for a wedding breakfast.
Or you can choose their Great Hall, this stunning room has a double height ceiling and a galleried landing. Very much in the style of Highclere House (Downton Abbey). It also makes the perfect location for arrival drinks, post-ceremony drinks and canapes and for dancing and partying late into the night and can accommodate up to 150 seated and more for a drinks/evening reception.
For more intimate weddings, the snug is ideal. It has all the grandeur of the rest of the house but on a smaller scale. Meaning you don’t have to sacrifice style and elegance at a smaller celebration.
For outdoor wedding ceremonies, Clevedon Hall’s gazebo is perfect. Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, the bespoke gazebo was built from Accoyo wood. Up to 150 guests can be seated in the surrounding area. You make your entrance by walking through a beautifully curved pathway that takes in the majestic beauty of the gardens. It’s the perfect English country garden wedding.

When I capture Clevedon Hall wedding photography, I love getting romantic images of my couples in front of the ornate stone fountain, or by the serene lake with its miniature island with sweeping willow trees. They’re a magical backdrop for gorgeous wedding photos.

The Great Hall is a ballroom space that is ideal for dancing, the drawing room next door is for those looking to take a break from the dancefloor and sink into deep armchairs for a drink and a chat. And when things start to wind down it’s only a short walk up the stairs to your room.
This brings us neatly to guest accommodation. Clevedon Hall has 25 luxurious bedrooms on the first and second floors of the mansion, many offering stunning views over the grounds and lake. Recently renovated that are individually designed to create a class chic and contemporary English country house vibe. Also, the cottage makes the ideal secluded retreat for the newlyweds.
