Working as a Dillington House wedding photographer is always a pleasure. Dillington House is a stunning historic house, dating back to the Elizabethan era within a stunning parkland setting at the heart of the Dillington Estate just outside Ilminster. This beautiful 16th-century manor house is one of the most romantic and magnificent wedding venues in Somerset.
The house is a fascinating Grade II mansion that was constructed during the 1500s, and underwent several renovations through the 17th and 19th centuries – it was a former Prime Minister’s home at one time.

This mellow Ham stone house offers a wonderful backdrop for wedding photographs and with its glorious gardens, sweeping lawns, magical woodlands, romantic perfectly-formed Orangery and twinkling fountain on the sun terrace, Dillington House is the perfect setting for your wedding celebrations.
The venue offers bespoke wedding packages with exclusive use including guest accommodation and also three fully licensed individual areas. Firstly, there is an elegant Hanning Room with its stunning Waterford crystal chandelier, gorgeous tapestries and a view of the croquet lawn. The Hanning room seats 120 people and is a perfect indoor option for larger wedding ceremonies.

The second (and my favourite) space is The Sun Terrace & Orangery which is a very romantic and classic place to say “I do”. This is the perfect choice for Summer weddings as you can have an outdoor ceremony for 100 guests or opt to have your ceremony inside the beautiful Orangery. No wonder it is the most popular ceremony choice for wedding couples.
There is also The Theatre in the magnificent 1870s Mews Building with the capacity of seating over 200 people it’s a perfect choice for the wedding breakfast and evening party; after the party, there is no need to leave the estate.

Dillington Estate can sleep 78 of your guests, with 16 English Country House style bedrooms in the house, 12 cosy cottage-style bedrooms in the Mews and a further 15 contemporary, boutique hotel-style bedrooms in the award-winning Hyde building.
To sum up, this unique Somerset wedding venue delivers so much, offering not just the best architectural delights in the country but also impressive views of the Somerset landscape. It is no surprise that many of Dillington House’s available dates are in popular demand! So if you want to get married here and like my Dillington house wedding photography, please get in touch.
