The best thing about shooting wedding photography in Somerset is that I get to work at some
amazing wedding venues. And this is certainly the case when I return to be an Elmhay Park
wedding photographer.
Elmhay Park is set amongst 500 acres of parkland and lakes, It offers a unique setting
comprising a delightful Italian Veranda, stunning walled gardens and an exquisite
orangery. There are also two parish churches on the estate as well as an 18-hole golf course,
The Peacock Restaurant and luxurious accommodation for up to 70 guests.
For wedding ceremonies, you can choose from many options. You can choose to say ‘I do’
within the walls of the enchanting Victorian walled garden with views of the beautiful
Somerset countryside. Or in the romantic Italian Garden, where your ceremony is held under
a beautiful wooden structure, giving you the best of both worlds of a covered ceremony but
outdoors. The structure also means you can enjoy an outdoor ceremony at Elmhay Park
all year round.
If you’re looking for a Christian ceremony, there are three parish churches close by, two of
which are on the estate. St Mary’s is located in the centre of the estate and sits in an idyllic
setting at the edge of a lake with a moat around it and is often referred to as the Island
Church. It can accommodate up to 130 guests.

All Saint’s Church is situated at the north entrance of the estate in the traditional English
village of Lullington. A bright and airy church, it can accommodate up to 150 guests. Lastly
there’s Grade I listed St John’s Church situated two miles away in the pretty market town of
Frome. This historically rich church can accommodate up to 350 guests for a wedding
ceremony, so it is ideal for large weddings.
Drinks and canapes receptions usually take place on the terrace overlooking the exquisite
gardens, or in the Italian gardens or their stunning orangery.
As an Elmhay Park wedding photographer, it is at this point of the day when guests are
happily mingling and enjoying refreshments, that I love whisking my couples away for a mini
photoshoot around Elmhay Park’s stunning gardens. And my couples often comment
afterwards, that stepping out for a stroll and enjoying a few minutes together was one of their
favourite parts on the day.
Wedding breakfasts are held in Elmhay Park’s luxurious and light-filled orangery that sits
within the magnificent gardens. It’s a stunning setting that will really wow you and your
guests. Food is provided by Elmhay Park’s in-house team of talented chefs, who will work
with you to create a tailor-made menu to your specifications. They work closely with local
farmers, gamekeepers and nurseries to ensure they get local food of the highest quality.

As the sun sets, Elmhay becomes the perfect location for an epic wedding celebration. The
Orangery has state of the art lighting and sound systems. Then add what you want: a live band, a DJ, casinos, photobooths or fireworks. Elmhay Park has no neighbours, so you can go
as large as you like with your evening celebrations. As a committed Elmhay Park
wedding photographer, I have been known to brave the dance floor to get some great party
images!
For guest accommodation, Elmhay Park offers Elmhay Park Village, tucked way 50 metres to
the rear of The Oranger,y the village comprises 12 charming and beautifully restored self-
catering lodges and cottages that sleep up to 70 guests. They range from the complete luxury
of The Bell Tower with a four-poster bed and a Jacuzzi bath to their five-bedroom farmhouse
that is perfect families and groups of friends.
Additional guest accommodation is easy to come by as Somerset is a popular tourist
destination with a host of accommodation options close by.
Elmhay Park offers a fantastic three-day wedding package for you and your wedding party.
You can unwind and dine in their Peacock Restaurant, enjoy a round of golf on
their 18-hole golf course, or relax in your own private garden hot tub. All of this makes
Elmhay Park is an ideal location for a destination wedding. You get to turn your
wedding day into a wedding adventure, taking all of your wedding party with you.
