Engagement Photography Bristol

Doing engagement photography Bristol is always fun as I get to capture the excitement and anticipation in couples as they enter into a life together.  And where better to tell that story than in the amazing city of Bristol. When it comes to great backdrops for photographing my couples I really am spoilt for choice.

Imagine you and your loved photographed in front of the Clifton suspension bridge, the famous graffiti of Stoke Croft, Clifton Village, the amazing architecture of the old city or the fashionable colourful façade houses of Montpellier, the vibrant St. Nicholas market or the picturesque Harbourside.  Bristol really has it all.

When I first meet my clients they often say that they feel uncomfortable being photographed, that they are unphotogenic or that they never like pictures of themselves. An engagement shoot is an opportunity to fix all of these worries. So that it won’t be an issue on your wedding day. It’s a chance for you to get used to me photographing you and if you need it I can give you tips to help you to be more comfortable in front of the camera.

I’ll make it fun and do my best to make your forget about the camera so that I can capture you as you are (but looking your absolute best) and the result is natural and authentic images that you will be thrilled with.  Many of my previous Bristol engagement photography work has been used by the clients in their wedding stationery like invitations, guest books and thank you cards.

Getting ready for your Bristol engagement shot

If you’re considering a Bristol engagement shoot you’ll have some questions to ask first.  Here are the answers to the most common ones!

What do we need to wear for our engagement shoot?

Wear comfortable clothes and footwear.  I don’t mean turn up scruffy just look relaxed and look like you.  I think they call it smart casual! Make sure you’re clothes are coordinated.  Not in a weird matchy-matchy way just make sure your colours and styles don’t clash.

When should we do our Bristol engagement shoot?

Anytime that suits you. Any time of day, any time of the year. We’ll talk about your expectations from the shoot and the backdrops you would like and then we’ll calculate the best time frame.  We can discuss how different seasons and different times of day greatly affect the light in your shots and can change the mood of them dramatically.

What do we do if we have bad weather on the day of our engagement shoot?

Ideally, I’d like to reschedule but if this is not an option don’t worry. There are plenty of interesting internal location shots we can use in Bristol.

What happens after my engagement shoot?

After the shoot, I will edit the photos and they will be available as digital files for you to download. After that, it’s up to you.  I can make you a bespoke album, a photobook, a guest book for your guests to sign on your wedding day or even thank you cards.  I have lots of samples that I can show you when we meet up.

How much will my engagement shoot cost?

A 60 min engagement photo shoot in Bristol area, including approx. 50 edited high-res pictures, is £250.  If you prefer somewhere further afield from Bristol there can be some variance in price so call me or drop me a line and I can give you a quote.
