I love my job as a Wiltshire Wedding Photographer, especially when I get to capture
Grittleton House wedding photography.
Grittleton House describes itself as one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Wiltshire
and it’s easy to see why. Who could fail to be impressed by a Grade II listed Victorian Gothic
Mansion set in 35 acres of beautiful Cotswold gardens and grounds. It’s no wonder that its
old-world charm has long made it a favourite with film and television crews.
This charming country house was transformed into a stunning luxury wedding venue in 2016
with renovations that brought the house back to life making the most of its exquisite
gothic and period features. When I capture Grittleton House wedding photography, I love the
high decorative ceilings and beautiful working fireplaces that make amazing backdrops in my
images.
For Grittleton House wedding photography, my day usually starts in the elegant drawing
room. As it is made available from 9 am for the wedding parties to get ready. It has amazing
period features and exquisite light that I play with to create even more stunning images.

For wedding ceremonies, they offer a variety of beautiful spaces. The Central Hall has high
ceilings, impressive balconies and a sweeping double staircase which you can descend from
to make a dramatic entrance. The Yellow Gallery was historically one of the staterooms. It
has original period features and amazing views of the gardens and grounds beyond. And the
Red Gallery offers yet another wonderful potential backdrop for your civil ceremony.
For a blending of indoor and outdoor spaces, the Victorian Orangery is ideal as it overlooks the
terrace. Or you can choose an outdoor ceremony in their stunning gardens.
For those looking for a Christian ceremony, St Mary’s Church is just a short walk from the
house. This Grade II listed 12th-century church is an atmospheric location for a wedding
ceremony.
Reception drinks can take place outdoors on the terraces and lawns or inside on the
sophisticated library bar which features rich mahogany finishes and crackling fires in their
period fireplaces, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for autumn and winter weddings.
There’s also a smaller library bar where you can retreat to during the day or is a cosy spot for
late-night drinks when you want to take a break from the dance floor.
For your wedding reception, you can choose from a host of flexible spaces suitable for
weddings from 50 guests to 200. A marquee can be erected in the grounds for your
celebrations making Grittleton House ideal for large, Asian and African weddings.
