The Mount Without Wedding Photographer

I love my job as a Bristol wedding photographer, as I get to work at some of the most iconic venues the city has to offer and this is never more so the case than when I return to be a The Mount Without wedding photographer.

The Mount Without is a 900-year-old Norman church situated on St Michael’s Hill in Bristol near the University.  Designated as a Grade II listed building, it suffered extensive fire damage and was sympathetically rebuilt in 2018.  Today it continues to be a gathering space to celebrate dance, art and music and maybe your wedding!

It is believed the original church was built around 1147 and was named The Mount Without because it was built outside of the city’s walls.  And having survived two world wars and a catastrophic fire, it’s fair to say that it has certainly stood the test of time.

Centrally located just a 20-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station and a five-minute stroll from the city’s main bus station, the venue has no parking but its location means there’s plenty of parking close by.

The Mount Without also known as The Church of St Michael on the Mount Without is situated right next to the ancient buildings of the university next to the beautiful Royal Fort Gardens in one of the most architecturally impressive areas of the city.

The venue spaces consist of The Main Hall, The Crypt, the mezzanine, gardens and a 15th-century tower that flexibly caters for weddings large or small.  The blend of old scarred walls and new art installations creates a setting that is both classic and open to your interpretation.

When I capture The Mount Without wedding photography, I love the dramatic backdrop as it makes for really grandiose group images of the wedding party that wouldn’t look out of place in Vogue.  It’s no wonder the venue is popular with TV, film and fashion shoots.

Wedding ceremonies usually take place in the impressive main hall.  With its stained-glass windows and grand culmed central throughway you really get to make an entrance.

When you book your wedding at The Mount Without you are given exclusive use of The Main Hall, The Crypt and the gardens.  Booking comes with mood lighting, rustic trestle tables, chairs and sofas.
