I always love returning to be a Walton Castle wedding photographer. Who doesn’t love a fairytale castle wedding? The 17th-century Walton Castle is one of the prettiest. This turreted Jacobean castle is utterly photogenic and creates a magical setting for a romantic wedding. You get to hire the entire castle, complete with guest accommodations, making Walton Castle a great choice for destination weddings.
Grade II listed Walton Castle is set upon a hill in Clevedon North Somerset just a few miles from Bristol and Bath. It sits on the site of an earlier Iron Age hill fort, and its elevated position enjoys views of the rolling Somerset countryside and coast and, on a clear day, views across five counties!

As a Walton Castle wedding photographer, my day usually starts in their self-contained turreted
apartment, which makes the perfect place for the wedding party to convene. Ideal for
wedding preparations, it is spacious enough to accommodate the entire wedding party, a
make-up artist and hair stylist and me, the most unobtrusive wedding photographer in
Somerset, there to capture those all-important morning of the wedding images.
For weddings, they offer their two largest turrets. Turret One has a capacity for 100 seated guests for a wedding ceremony and/or a wedding breakfast and can accommodate up to 250 guests for an evening reception.
For larger weddings, a luxury marquee can be erected on the grounds, making Walton Castle a great venue for large, Asian and African weddings.
Turret 8 is a little smaller, with a capacity for 80 seated guests for a wedding ceremony and/or a wedding breakfast and can accommodate up to 160 guests for an evening celebration.
Many couples choose to have an outdoor ceremony at Walton Castle in their stunning courtyard surrounded by the castle walls. A one-of-a-kind setting that makes for unforgettable moments and fantastic photo opportunities.
The courtyard also doubles up as an atmospheric space for drinks receptions and a starting point for you and your guests to explore the castle.

When I capture wedding photography at Walton Castle, I love whisking my couples away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around the beautiful grounds and gardens of the castle, and I am always spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning backdrops for wedding photos.
When it comes to food, the style of catering is completely up to you. You can self-cater in their fully equipped kitchen, but there are also a range of catering options from street food vendors to Michelin chefs. This flexibility gives you greater control of the style of your wedding and your wedding food budget.
For evening celebrations, they have facilities for a live band, a DJ, a dancefloor and a permit for silent outdoor fireworks. Everything you need for an epic evening celebration.
For guest accommodation, Walton Castle offers accommodation over four floors of their octagonal keep. Turrets 3, 4, 5 and 7 have all been transformed into luxurious and atmospheric double bedrooms. The larger turret 6 has been converted into a self-contained apartment featuring a sitting room, a double bed, a sofa bed, a games room, a library and a 60” television. Add to that a heated indoor swimming pool and private sun terrace for you and your guests to enjoy, and you have everything you need for your wedding party to relax and make a weekend of it. They also offer camping on their grounds.
