Wedding photographer Elmore Court

I get excited every time I have a chance to be a wedding photographer Elmore Court. This award-winning wedding venue is just a few miles away from Gloucester and has a reputation as one of the best wedding venues in Gloucestershire. The historic house has over 700 years of family history and in 2013, was opened up by the same family to host weddings and other special events. As a country house; it has an incredibly versatile space that is perfect for any style of wedding.

I always loved returning to be a wedding photographer Elmore Court.  This beautiful historic Grade II listed mansion was established as a home in the 13th century.  It is located at Elmore in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire and has views over the Cotswold countryside and River Severn.  It sits on 1,000 acres of farmland, woodland and of course the very photogenic gardens of the main house.

Inside the house, there’s a series of beautiful period rooms ideal for weddings.  Namely The Hall, The Dining Room, the Drawing Room and the Morning Room.

The Hall is at the heart of the house.  It features fireplaces, plasterwork ceilings and tapestries adorn the walls.  The best feature of the hall is a great mullioned window that lights the room with a rainbow of colours from its heraldic stained glass.  It throws light around the room that I work with to create even more beautiful images.  The Hall is licensed to host civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests.

Or you can choose an outdoor ceremony at Elmore Court, at the front of the house on the lawn.  It’s an idyllic spot with the majestic façade of the house making a gorgeous backdrop in your wedding photos.

For those looking for a more traditional ceremony, St John the Baptist Church is situated just minutes away in the village of Elmore.  Considered to be one of the prettiest churches in England, this Norman Grade I listed church has been a place of Christian worship for centuries.  Many couples choose a church ceremony and then head back to nearby Elmore Court for celebrations.

Talking of celebrations, dinner and dancing at Elmore Cour take place in The Gillyflower.  This stunning purpose-built space (using materials found on the estate) is really impressive.  Its walls are made from rammed earth and its timber is sourced from Elmore Court’s very own woodlands.  It has a meadow roof that blends with the adjacent fields and stunning windows that frame the magnificent views over the English countryside.

The team at Elmore Court have named its look as future-rustic as it seamlessly blends into its surroundings with a rustic charm whilst subtly offering all the modern technology you could wish for in a premier Cotswold wedding venue.  State-of-the-art lighting, heating and sound systems allow you to create your perfect vibe.   And the result is the perfect location for an epic wedding celebration.  Its clever design means it can accommodate weddings from 50 to over 200 without ever feeling too empty or too full.

Elmore Court takes food very seriously as an ever-increasing amount of their vegetables, fruit and herbs being grown in the walled garden, greenhouse and surrounding fields on the estate.  Their meat and fish are organic and sustainably sourced from local producers.  Their talented team of chefs have created exciting menus including vegetarian and vegan options and they cater for children.   Wines are carefully selected and paired with food from the vast selection in their 13th-century cellar.

Relaxed Wedding photographer Elmore Court

When I capture Elmore Court wedding photography, my day usually starts at The Coach House.  This secluded house has two double bedrooms and a sitting room with a sofa bed sleeping a total of 6.  So, it’s the perfect place for the wedding party to convene and enjoy drinks, and maybe some pampering.  And for me to take that all-important morning of the wedding images.

In the main house, there are 16 beautifully appointed bedrooms.  The palatial master suite and Smoking Room are the largest with separate dressing areas so again ideal for wedding preparation.  The main house offers a further 14 bedrooms each as beautiful as the next.  And with exclusive use, the bedrooms are yours for the night.

For the more adventurous amongst your guests, Elmore Court has designed and built six Treehouses.  Designed and built using sustainable materials.  They sit high in the canopy and overlook wetlands where wild animals roam free.  Each treehouse boasts outdoor copper baths, firepits, supersize king-size beds and verandas for taking in the scenery.  Unlike accommodation in the main house, the treehouses need to be booked separately for weddings.

Natural wedding photographer Elmore Court

Another thing I love about Elmore Court is its eco-philosophy. Whether it’s their farm-to-fork approach to food, building using sustainable materials found on the estate, their efforts to protect wildlife and their giving over of their land for re-wilding.  If you’re nature nature-loving couple who care about the environment Elmore is a good wedding venue for you.  Knowing that the cost of your wedding is contributing to the preservation of the local landscape and wildlife is a wonderful way to your married life together.

When you book your wedding at Elmore Court, one of their wedding coordinators will be assigned to you when you are one year away from your wedding date.  They are then on-call to answer any of your questions and to help you with table plans, food tastings and booking other suppliers.  And they are with you on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly.

So if you’re looking for an enchanting yet laid-back Gloucestershire wedding venue that ticks all of the boxes then take a look at Elmore Court. And if you’re looking for a wedding photographer Elmore Court then get in touch. I’d love to hear about your wedding plans…
