Rockbeare Manor Wedding Photography

Natalie and James got married at the gorgeous Rockbeare Manor near Exeter in Devon. It was a wonderful wedding, with really well executed cycled theme, which is groom's weak point.

I was looking forward to provide Rockbeare Manor wedding photography as it was my first wedding at this stunning venue. Rockbeare Manor is own by the same company that runs Priston Mill and Coombe Lodge- two very successful and popular South West wedding venues where I photographed lots of fantastic weddings. After the wedding I could honestly say that the same high values and professionalism were passed onto Rockbeare Manor, including the food!

Being Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer couldn't be easier. There are lots of great rooms: spacious bridal suite (probably the biggest I ever seen), the billard room (lads chill out zone) and ceremony room with an impressive chandelier. Rockbeare Manor is simply stunning country house, and it’s got such an grand feel to it.

Back to wedding. The ceremony was very emotional - full of laughter, tears and nervous giggles.

After the ceremony and confetti shot, I left the couple to mingle, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. Then we did some family photos, which I think are really important. We also got some lovely evening portrait photos in front of the venue and by the fountain just after the sunset. The first dance was also a talking point of the wedding. The couple picked "One love" by Bob Marley, which in my opinion it's a brilliant choice for the first dance.

A wedding tip from the bride

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is:

"Enjoy the build up to your wedding as much a possible, when the day finishes, it’s all over!"

"Martin photographed our wedding at Rockbeare Manor Aug 2018, we are so impressed with his photos and the album he has created for us, I would highly highly recommend him.
Not only is Martins work stunning but he is the most friendly and professional person to work with. Even our guests commented on how lovely he was.
We have amazing photos to remember our special day, including one that went on to win an award. What else can I say! Really excellent, 5 star" - Natalie & James

I loved this Rockbeare Manor wedding so much and can't wait to go back there. If you’re getting married and looking for Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer, get in touch.

Dartington Hall wedding - Victoria & Lawrence

Victoria and Lawrence's Dartington Hall wedding had an autumn theme using the best of the season to decorate this stunning medieval venue.

Dartington Hall is the largest medieval house in the West of England and possibly one of the most romantic wedding venues in Devon. It is a perfect combination of being really grand and striking but also rustic and relaxed, allowing the couple to put their personal touches to it. Dartington wedding venue is also a social enterprise and a lot of money made from weddings is put back into the community!

The couple found me on Dartington Hall recommended supplier list and they love the previous wedding that I captured here.

Vicky and Larry decided on November wedding as they loved the idea of cosy log fires and autumnal colours. The theme of the wedding was all things rustic and autumnal - lots of dried leaves, pine cones, ivy, burnt oranges, candles, etc

Also as the couple run a brewery it would have been silly not to provide their own Red Ink Brewing beer at the wedding. It was a great hit and even Dartington Hall on-site pub was serving their tasty beer to their customers long after their wedding.

The bride and groom wanted to personalize the ceremony as much as possible and make it really fun. They had four great readings, some of which were tailored especially for them!

The guitarist Tommy C was amazing adds on to the ceremony. He played during the signing of the register and got everyone singing, and even dancing, during the ceremony. After wedding breakfast, cutting the five-tier Devonshire cheesecake and touching speeches we had some time for some evening portraits, which is a must at such a striking venue! The couple started the evening party with their first dance played by Plastic Pantomime. The wedding band rocked and kept all the guests constantly on the dancefloor. Thumbs up!

"Martin photographed our wedding at Dartington Hall in November. He was fantastic! Relaxed yet professional on the day, listened to all of our weird and wonderful ideas beforehand and dealt with the November weather expertly! We were really happy with the end result and ended up ordering an album double the size of the one we had previously planned as we loved the pictures so much! Thanks again Martin."
