Rockbeare Manor Wedding Photographer

It is always a pleasure capturing weddings as Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer. I work at the very best Devon wedding venues and this is never truer than when I get to capture wedding photography at Rockbeare Manor. I am proud to say that I am a recommended supplier at this stunning Regency Grade I listed country manor house wedding venue.  Where every wedding offers exclusive use meaning that the experienced team at Rockbeare will be entirely focused on making your day everything you dreamed of.

Built in 1760 for a wealthy Exeter woollen merchant, Rockbeare Manor is an impressive Regency country manor house that has been beautifully maintained both inside and out. Located just outside Exeter in 100 acres of Devon parkland.  The venue has recently been renovated and refurbished to a very high standard whilst retaining all of its period charm.

When it comes to weddings, multi-award-winning Rockbeare Manor offers a host of beautifully appointed spaces to accommodate weddings from 50 to 160 guests.

A popular choice for wedding ceremonies is their 250-year-old Adams-style dining room.  It has hand-crafted ornamental plasterwork, marble pillars and huge crystal chandeliers. You say your vows in front of stunning period bay windows that offer breathtaking views of the south lawn and fountain.  The dining room is a real favourite with us Devon wedding photographers as it is so photogenic and elegant.  It is a perfect size for smaller to medium-sized weddings.

For larger weddings, their orangery-style ballroom is ideal and can accommodate civil ceremonies for 100-160 guests.  It has high ceilings and contemporary chandeliers.  Its full-length windows bathe the space in tons of natural light, that I play with to create even more beautiful images.  The light also serves to give the ballroom an expansive and airy feel. And the ballroom’s neutral tones allow you to add styling to suit your wedding palette.

In recent years, outdoor wedding ceremonies at Rockbeare Manor have increased in popularity.  And if you’ve ever seen the gardens at Rockbeare you’ll understand why.  Outdoor ceremonies take place in the garden next to the fountain.  You say your vows under the archway of the South Pavilion, with your guests seated in a way to creates a natural aisle.  This spot offers amazing views of the Manor House and up towards Dartmoor in the distance.

If you’re looking for a more traditional wedding, St Mary’s with St Andrew’s Church in Rockbeare village is ideal.  You will need to contact the church yourself to make the necessary arrangements.

One of the many things I love about capturing wedding photography at Rockbeare Manor is that guests get to explore every room of this amazing house.  Exclusive use and the natural flow of the house allow guests to explore the library, the billiards room and the atrium.  Perfect locations to take candid images of you and your guests that perfectly suit my documentary style of wedding photography.

When it comes to food, the in-house catering team at Rockbeare Manor take enormous pride in their wedding menus.  With an emphasis on exciting cuisine that is ethically sourced through local trusted suppliers.  A selection of menus has been created that include vegetarian and vegan options covering everything from elegant canapes to fine dining to barbecues.  Evening guests can enjoy a range of tasty options including pizza, pasties or oriental chicken bowls.  You, your event manager and the chefs work together to create the perfect menu for your day.

When I capture wedding photography at Rockbeare Manor, I love taking my couples around the ample gardens and grounds for a romantic photoshoot.  And I am always spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful backdrops for wedding photos.

For guest accommodation, Rockbeare Manor offers 13 luxurious individually designed rooms, including family rooms and a room on the ground floor to accommodate those with limited mobility.  The largest suite makes a perfect bridal suite.  Large, airy and spacious with beautiful interiors, it’s the perfect place for the wedding party to congregate and for me to take those all-important mornings of wedding photos.  The wedding team at Rockbeare Manor will also provide you with a list of local accommodations for your guests to suit all tastes and budgets.

For evening celebrations, Rockbeare Manor has a dancefloor, a state-of-the-art sound system and a license for live music and fireworks.  So, if you’re planning an epic party, there are no limits.

After the sun has set, Rockbeare Manor is beautifully lit, and I do like my parting shot to be a romantic image of my couple outdoors.  Like this image I took of Natalie and James by Rockbeare Manor’s beautiful fountain.

The experienced and dedicated events team at Rockbeare Manor will work with you through every stage of planning your wedding with the understanding that it’s the little details that make all the difference.

They will be there with you on the day to ensure that the utmost care is taken to ensure your day runs exactly to your vision.  This will allow you to relax and enjoy your day in the knowledge that your wedding is in safe and experienced hands.  It’s worth mentioning that the same values were carried forward to Rockbeare Manor’s sister venues: Coombe Lodge near Bristol and Priston Mill near Bath.

When it comes to pricing, you just speak to their events team for full terms.  There are always offers for winter weddings, as well as Sunday and weekday weddings which can be viewed on the Rockbeare Manor website where there is also a very handy frequently asked questions page.

So, if you’re thinking of having your wedding in Devon, I hope this has been helpful to you.  Rockbeare Manor is a stunning wedding venue but you don’t have to take my word for it.  The most fun part of planning a wedding is getting to visit amazing wedding venues in beautiful places. So have fun with it!
