Roman Baths Wedding Photography

As a busy Bath wedding photographer, I get to work at the most iconic Somerset wedding venues, and they don’t get any more iconic than the Roman Baths in the historic city of Bath.  I couldn’t be prouder to say that I am a recommended supplier at this awe-inspiring, award-winning Somerset wedding venue and provide Roman Baths wedding photography regularly.

Imagine getting married at this truly unique and enchanting location.  Roman Baths can cater for weddings from intimate elopements for two, to grand celebrations for up to 300 guests and everything in between.

Wedding ceremonies take place beside the atmospheric torch-lit and steaming waters of the great bath.  One of the many things I love about capturing wedding photography at the Roman Baths is that although outdoors, the venue is not weather-dependent, because the ancient paving surrounding the Great Bath is protected by the soffits from the Terrace above.

Roman Baths offer two ceremony times, sunrise and sunset.  This is so that you can enjoy exclusive use of the Roman Bath whilst the museum is closed.  Sunrise wedding ceremonies are held at 8.30 am and are perfect for elopements and small weddings.  The ceremony is held at the water’s edge, within full view of the magnificent Bath Abbey.

You and your guests can then choose to enjoy a delicious breakfast at the adjoining Pump Room restaurant with musical accompaniment from the Pump Room Trio.  The Pump Room can accommodate up to 40 guests.

Or you can take advantage of the Roman Baths Bijou wedding package, where you can enjoy an intimate ceremony at The Temple of Minerva in their Botanical Gardens.  This hidden treasure sits on a lawned area and is perfect for drinks, confetti throwing and lawn games.  For larger celebrations, you can add a marquee allowing you up to 300 guests.

For elopements, the team at Roman Baths offer a wonderful no-fuss package where you stay at the lovely Hotel Indigo just a short stroll away and enjoy a sunrise ceremony just the two of you.

Sunset wedding ceremonies take place after the museum has closed and are again conducted on the edge of the water.  Sunset weddings are ideally suited to medium to large weddings of 40 to 200 guests because there’s space to have a full celebration afterwards.

Drink receptions usually happen beside the water’s edge followed by a wedding breakfast seated in the Victorian Terrace.  (A terrace built by the Victorians to view the newly discovered Roman Baths from!)

For more intimate weddings, the Kingston Room and the Drawing Room make the ideal spaces for a wedding breakfast.  These elegant period rooms create a cosy setting at a smaller wedding.

Or you can choose to have your wedding breakfast or catered party at the Pump Room.  This breathtaking room is as much as it was when first opened in 1795 with the unique spa water still flowing from the fountain overlooking the natural hot spring.  Now with a feature crystal chandelier sparkling in the centre of the room.  For evening celebrations, The Pump Room has a stage for a live band and a dancefloor for your guests.

Evening celebrations also take place in the magnificent Reception Hall with its soaring domed four seasons vaulted ceiling.  It can accommodate 40 – 200 guests and with space for a band and/or DJ, room for dancing, and the central oval ticketing desk transformed into a fully stocked bar, you have everything you need to party the night away.  For large celebrations, you can combine it with the adjoining Victorian Terrace.

If you choose to get married elsewhere, you can still have your evening celebration at The Roman Baths.

When I capture wedding photography at The Roman Baths, I love taking atmospheric photos of my couples by the torchlit and steaming waters.  Images you wouldn’t be able to achieve at any other wedding venue in the country.  Here, take a look!

When it comes to food, the team at the Roman Baths use award-winning caterers Searcys.  Who pride themselves on always adding a magical twist to timeless favourites.  They will work with you to create your perfect bespoke wedding menu and there will be a Banqueting Manager present at your wedding ensuring you and your guests will be wowed by the food.

At the time of booking, you will also be allocated a wedding co-ordinator, who will guide you through the planning process.  And with so many flexible options to choose from you can create a bespoke wedding just for you.  Your wedding coordinator will also be there with you on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Another lovely feature of weddings at The Roman Baths is that after dark the buildings are beautifully and atmospherically lit.  Allowing me to take romantic and unique images of my couples later in the day as the sun has set and the party gets started.

When it comes to guests’ accommodation, Bath has luxurious country house hotels with spas, fashionable boutique B&B and a host of Airbnb accommodations.  Something to suit all tastes and all budgets and all within a short walking distance of the Roman Baths.

Roman Baths is a stunning wedding venue but you don’t have to take my word for it.  The most fun part of planning a wedding is visiting amazing wedding venues in brilliant locations.  So have fun with it.
