Bristol Harbour Hotel Wedding Photographer

I love my job as a Bristol wedding photographer and get excited by new wedding venues in the city.  So, imagine my excitement to learn about a new four-star luxury wedding venue that sits right in the heart of the Corn Hill area of Bristol. Thankfully, it wasn’t long before I got the chance to be a Bristol Harbour Hotel wedding photographer, and I loved it so much I can’t wait to return.

Bristol Harbour Hotel is an elegant 19th-century property with an impressive façade that sits proudly in the middle of Bristol’s historic Corn Street.  Just steps away from artsy and eclectic St Nicholas Street market and Bristol Register Office.

This luxury hotel, restaurant and spa have two spaces that are licensed to host civil ceremonies.  The first of these spaces is The Sansovino Hall.  This dramatic hall is perfect for dramatic entrances.  This grand architectural masterpiece was inspired by Jacopo Sansovino’s 16th-century Venetian library on St Mark’s Square in Venice.  An awe-inspiring room with an ornate skylight and beautifully detailed ceilings.  And it’s already a favourite with Bristol wedding photographers, as it is so utterly photogenic.  With a maximum capacity for 300 seated and 400 standing guests, it’s ideal for large and/or Asian weddings.

Bristol Harbour Hotel specialise in Asian weddings including Gujarati, Bengali Punjabi and Muslim unions.  And they work with local Asian wedding industry suppliers for catering and decoration. This is another reason why I love capturing Bristol Harbour Hotel wedding photography, as I love photographing Asian weddings as they suit my documentary style of wedding photography.

For more intimate weddings, The Vault is ideal.  Again, you make your entrance but this time by walking down the candle-lit staircase and into an intimate and atmospheric venue where your guests await your grand entrance.  Formerly a bank vault, its white interiors with flecks of gold make it the perfect blank canvas to dress as you wish.  It can accommodate up to 60 guests seated and 80 for a drinks or evening reception.

Another space at Bristol Harbour Hotel is The Blue Room.  Once upon a time, this was the Bank Manager’s office dating back to 1854, now it feels more like a private residence with its distinct masonry, lavish fabrics and high ceilings it’s an opulent setting ideal for hosting an intimate wedding breakfast.  It has a dining capacity of 15 guests going up to 25 guests for drinks and evening receptions.

When I capture Bristol Harbour Hotel wedding photography, I love to see guests arriving and enjoying drinks in Bristol Harbour Hotel’s stunning Gold Bar.  Already renowned as one of Bristol’s most chic cocktail bars, this ultra-luxe bar sets the tone for an uber-stylish city wedding.

For guest accommodation, Bristol Harbour Hotel offer 42 rooms and suites.  Each of which blends the exquisite architecture of the building with Bristol’s modern edge to create a unique style of their own offering luxurious little extras like Bramley toiletries, a Nespresso coffee machine and a complimentary decanter of gin!

The Corner Suite is ideal for wedding preparations.  This light and spacious room has tall bay windows giving you a bird’s eye view of the buzz of Corn Street below.  Add to that a super king-size bed and a large bathroom with a free-standing bath a separate large waterfall shower and tons of mirrors and plug sockets and you have everything you need to convene and get ready together.  When I am a Bristol Harbour Hotel wedding photographer, I love how the Corner Suite makes a fantastic backdrop in my wedding preparation images.

Whilst there, be sure to visit their onsite spa located deep underground where the bank vaults used to be.  Known as Bristol’s subterranean HarSPA you will find jet pools, jacuzzies, steam rooms and saunas alongside a host of treatments.  What better way to relax before and/or after your wedding day?
