Hilton Vilamoura wedding photographer
Being Elliot and Ivet’s Hilton Vilamoura wedding photographer was a wonderful experience for me. It was a lovely January wedding in the Algarve – fantastic and well-organized! The couple lives in Scotland and there was a real mixture of nationalities on their big day. Guests from the UK, Portugal, Spain and the USA were present. The wedding coordinator did a great job in planning and executing a beautiful ceremony in the Hilton Vilamoura’s romantic gardens. The venue, Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas, is a modern five-star property with a large open-plan atrium lobby, central gardens with cascading waterfalls, and an adjacent spa. Its wonderful style and ambience give it a relaxed feel that appeals to couples.
This particular wedding was more than business as usual for me because I photographed the groom’s brother’s wedding a few years back in Cambridge, so I was familiar with the family. There were also a few couples present whose weddings I photographed which made this event even more special for me.
Elliot and Ivet had an outdoor ceremony (blessing) with live music and prayers. Fortunately for a January wedding, the sun shone throughout the whole day and was warm, quite lucky for January.
I started with photographing some groom prep and then went to the bride’s. The bride said she was so excited yet felt relaxed as she posed for her wedding photoshoot. After the ceremony there was a drink reception and group pictures were taken in the Blue Lagoon Patio area. Before the wedding breakfast in the late afternoon, there was lovely soft light, so I took the couple for a few portraits.

After the fantastic meal and speeches which took place in Tejo Ballroom, I took Elliot and Ivet for some evening shots.
There was no first dance or disco, cutting of the cake concluded the day. As there wasn’t enough time on the wedding day and the couple wanted to have some pictures on the beach, we did a session the next day in the morning at The Vilamoura beach which is only a 5-minute drive from the hotel. It was worth it!
My style of photography allows me to capture authentic, timeless, touching and heartfelt moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
