There are many reasons why I like to provide The Great Tythe Barn wedding photography. The Great Tythe Barn is a stunning Grade II listed, 16th-century Cotswold stone barn and the focal point of the 200-acre Tythe Estate. This very significant Gloucestershire wedding venue is just outside the historic market town of Tetbury, in the Cotswolds ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
The Great Tythe Barn is quite easy to reach by road – and is only about 20 miles from Bath, Bristol, Gloucester, Swindon and Cheltenham. Expertly restored, the historic Tythe Barn retains many of its original features such as wooden oak beams and exposed stone walls. I especially like atmospheric lighting and tall glass entrance doors; which allow plenty of natural light and views of the magnificent courtyard.
Furthermore, it is a spacious and flexible venue, seating up to 200 people and can adjust to various wedding styles. For a civil ceremony or partnership: Newton Gallery, Shipton and Estcourt are all perfect choices (the capacity ranging from 65 to 200). There is also an outdoor Gazebo, and Tythe House Orangery, superbly restored in 2009 and perfect for smaller, and more intimate, ceremonies.
The most popular choice for the ceremony is Estcourt, due to its romantic fairytale light canopy. Just perfect for the Great Tythe Barn wedding photography. In the evening the Great Tythe Barn transforms into a truly spectacular venue for an evening reception, accommodating up to 350 guests.
There is a stage and wooden dance floor; which provides an excellent space for a band or DJ to set up – and for your guests to dance the night away until the early hours!
When your special day comes to an end, there is no need to leave! You and your guests can stay paces away from the Tythe Barn in ten, cosy, honey-coloured Cotswold cottages. There are also twelve en-suite ‘Bed and Breakfast’ rooms and the five-star rated Tythe House. (All of these combined means up to 90 guests can stay!)
I think this is one of the best selling points, as providing accommodation to that many guests on the farm/barn estate in the Cotswolds is very rare.

Moreover, what I like about providing the Great Tythe Barn wedding photography is the picturesque Estcourt space (particularly in the evening). Open fields behind the barn, great for sunset pics, and a tree-lined driveway in front of Tythe House. Not to mention the professional and award-winning team: “Winner of the Best Countryside Wedding Venue in South West 2019”.
So if you are getting married in this stunning venue, congratulations, you are in safe hands. Please get in touch if you would like the same care and attention from your Great Tythe Barn wedding photographer.
